Fishing Report for September 2008
We are all excited here as fall is in the air and this means that the fishing is PRIME and the fish smoker is going. There is nothing like the smell of fresh smoked salmon and crisp air in the mornings to get you excited for the fall salmon runs and the aggressive Sturgeon.
Salmon
Trout
Trout fishing has been good on our wilderness rivers and lakes. Our best day last week saw over 50 rainbows caught averaging 2-3lbs on the dry fly. In the next few weeks we expect fishing to pickup on some of our fall wilderness rivers.
Sturgeon
Sturgeon fishing has been excellent as well. These past few weeks’ sturgeon have been averaging 6-8 feet with the largest sturgeon last month caught at 114 inches (9.5 feet). As we get closer to fall we see the number of Sturgeon caught and size of the sturgeon increase significantly. We are looking forward to breaking the world record this year with the first ever IGFA sturgeon tournament being held at the lodge.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fishing Report for July 2008 Salmon Fishing
Sturgeon Fishing Has been good over the past weeks. Consistant catches in the 6-7 ft. range with some sturgeon over 8 feet and weighing in a 300 lbs. plus
Trout Fishing Fantastic. You can expect an unforgettable day at one of our wilderness rivers or take our helicopter and fish some of our PRIVATE LAKES. You can expect 25-50 trout per day without anybody around. You can use either spinning gear, or fly-fish on a wet- or dry fly.
Lodge 13 years of construction completed. We now can concentrate entirely on spoiling our guests. We have diversified our packages and offer a true “Luxury Wilderness Lodge on the Outskirts of Vancouver”. "People go where they are invited and return where they are well treated". I am looking forward seeing you at the lodge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fishing Report for May 2008 On Saturday May 10th we held our “4th Annual Sturgeon Tournament. The turn out this year was amazing in support of the Agassiz Fire Department. 17 boats took off from Island 22 in pursuit of “the big one” and for a chance to win some great prizes back at the lodge. There were several large fish caught out of the 70 fish caught in total, with the first place fish coming in at 88inches. Congratulations Elmer for winning the grand prize of an all inclusive fishing trip for 4 people at the Fraser River Lodge. There were many other great prizes awarded for the other large fish caught including a Helicopter tour from Valley helicopter, River rafting with Hyak Wilderness, Makita tools, golf passes and many more. Overall we were able to raise $2,800 for the Agassiz Fire Department. Thank you for everyone who helped make this event a great success! ![]() As the fresh net begins we are starting to see the rivers rise. During this time we will continue to have great days for Sturgeon and will pursue multiple species of trout on our wilderness rivers & heli fishing lakes.

Fishing Report for March 2008 STEELHEAD & TROUT
To say that this year is one of our best seasons ever for steelhead & trout is right on the mark! Mother Nature was very good to us so far. The rivers are gin clear, the action for steelhead & trout is good and even the weather is nice. Our most popular way to fish for steelhead is via raft or walk and wade. We not only fish rivers in the immediate area of our lodge, but also some incredible wilderness rivers and lakes with great success either on fly or spinning gear. If you want in on the action give us a call and we can arrange for you to be on your way up one of our wilderness rivers in a custom jet boat or in a helicopter to one of our remote lakes.\
STURGEON
We are back in the chase for the big White Sturgeon. Our guides are out on a daily basis and sturgeon fishing has picked up significant over the last week with water temperatures warming up. The cycle of the sturgeon has been turned as they have started feeding actively. You can expect to catch sturgeon everyday with our guides as they have the know how to get you into some great Sturgeon action. Our boats are all covered and heated so you can expect nothing more than comfort while you wait for the Sturgeon to take the bait!
STURGEON TOURNAMENT MAY 10th, 2008
We have a sturgeon tournament coming up on May 10th, 2008. This marks our 4th annual fundraiser. This year’s beneficiary is the “Agassiz Fire Department”, a group of dedicated fireman who help save lives every year, regardless of putting their own safety on line. Cost per corporate boat is CAD 800 and cost per individual is CAD 200. After the guided fishing you are invited back to the lodge for the award dinner with a fabulous buffet and many outstanding prizes. Please e-mail at office@fraserriverlodge.com or call our office at 604-796-1210 to sign up.
We still have spots open for some prime salmon and sturgeon
fishing either at our all inclusive lodge, outpost lodge or at one of
our partner facilities such as the beautiful “Seabird Island Cabins” Fraser River Fishing Report Dec. 24th, 2007 An exciting 2007 season comes to an end. Whenever we think
it doesn`t get any better, each new year seems to top the previous One.
2007 had it`s challenges with some changes, at the end all for the good.
Also many exiting things happened. We finally completed our new lodge
- after 12 years in business and 4 long years in contstant contruction.
The result is, arguably, one of the most stunning lodges/resorts ever
built in one of the best locations anywhere in North America. We offer
in 2008 more rivers, streams and lakes to fish in than ever before, we
have booked more weddings in 2008 than in the past years combined, our
corporate bookings in 2007 alone matched the past 10 years of corporate
business combined, our spa is so busy, that we often had to hire extra
staff to satisfy the demand, the gift shop sold more merchandise and organic
bison meat than we sold the past years combined and our conference facility
seems to be THE meeting location in the Vancouver area .... |
